How To Activate the Service in SAP Gateway System?

Here are the steps to activate the service in SAP Gateway system:


1. Go to transaction SPRO.

2. Follow the IMG Path- SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP NetWeaver -> Gateway -> OData Channel -> Configuration -> Connection Settings -> SAP NetWeaver Gateway to SAP System -> Manage SAP System Aliases.

3. Execute the node Manage SAP System Aliases.

4. Click on ‘New entries, button.

sap85. Maintain the entries as shown in the screenshot below.
SAP System Alias – ‘ERPSystemName_ClientNumber
RFC Destination – Enter the RFC destination you created above
Software Version – “DEFAULT

6. Click on ‘Save’ button, to save your system alias.

sap97. Go to transaction SPRO.

8. Follow the IMG Path- SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP NetWeaver -> Gateway -> OData Channel -> Administration -> General Settings-> Maintain Services.

9. Execute the node Maintain Services.

sap1010. Click on ‘Add Service’ button.

11. Enter the System Alias name that you have created and press Enter.

12. Check that your service XXX_XXX_XXX_XXX (name of the service) is displayed in the table.

13. Click on your Service.

sap1314. Check that ‘Technical Service Name’ and ‘Technical Model Name’ fields are filled by the system. Do not change these entries.

15. Select radio button ‘Compatibility Mode for SP02’.

16. Enter your package name. Click on ‘Add service’ icon on the bottom of the screen.

Note: - The service will add into the Gateway System. Click ‘Back’ Button to see added service. Click on service, you will get all detail (ICF Nodes and System Alias). ‘SDATA’ will be green because it is active node.
