How To Connect SAP Systems Using RFC Connection?

Today, we will learn to To Connect SAP Systems Using RFC Connection,  you need to follow these steps:


1. Go to Transaction SPRO.

2. Follow the IMG Path- SAP Customizing Implementation Guide -> SAP NetWeaver -> Gateway -> OData Channel -> Configuration -> Connection Settings -> SAP NetWeaver Gateway to SAP System -> Manage RFC Destinations.

3. Execute the node Manage RFC Destinations.

4.  Click on create button.

5.  Enter the RFC Destination in the format ERPSystemName’CLNT’ClientNumber.


6. Enter Connection Type 3. Enter a short description for RFC Destination.


7. Go to tab ‘Technical Settings’. In the field ‘Target Host’, enter the application server name of your backend system.  In the field ‘System Number’, enter the Instance Number of your ERP backend system. You will get these details from the properties of your ERP backend system in the SAP Logon Pad.


sap38. In the tab ‘Logon & Security’, fill your user login details of your ERP back-end system. The user should exist in your ERP system.


9. Save your settings.

Note: You can test your connection for the RFC destination you created by clicking on ‘Connection Test’ button. You will get a result similar to the screenshot below.

Check that the new RFC destination is created successfully.
